With an unusual late PB, meant a morning off from hockey; something it seems is not liked or wanted!! (Who really enjoys soft play??:))
Sue’s words of love in our minds - I need bragging rights, make sure you win! - we took to the pitch.
From the off it became apparent the match may be a little more aggressive; then we liked - we stuck to our jobs and worked that ball, our legs and the umpires minds.
The first half, we had our chances, unlucky not to sneak through their defence, they came at us and we pushed them back away - a few greens thrown in for them too!
Half time and 0-0, we had the better half, Mags and Brens told us to do this and that - I was more focused on the orange fruit pastilles (sorry!) We needed to remember, composure and stick to our game.
They came out like scrappy doo for the 2nd half, stick tackles and even 12 on the pitch!! Few more greens for them, and then they snuck one in and then another!! we pushed and pushed but couldn’t get the result we wanted.
The first loss in the season and it feels bad, we won’t let it get to us - we’ll be back to it next week, sorry Sue you’ll have to pay for coffee and cake (whilst smashing the MWC!)
Player of the match is the terrier on the right, Jo T - with great defensive work and attacking prowess 🙃
