Ladies' 2X 3 vs Alton 1 0

Despite the early torrential rain, wimp shirts were off for our sunny match up in Alton. With our winning white shirts on, and the promise of fruit pastilles at half time, we were confident starting. 

We did take 10 minutes or so to find our form but kept pushing and putting our thursday training to good effect. It started paying off at the 10 minute mark, a lovely ball down the line was picked up by Jen, Mollie kept her run to the middle going and picked up the cross with a first touch reverse stick slot through the goalies legs. Magic. 

Alton were dangerous on the break and won some short corners but our defence took this in their stride. Jo stopped one shot just before the line and we countered again. Roseanne felt like a spell in the D so she picked up the ball at our 22 and keeping it on her stick, dribbled past several players, almost to the baseline and then slotted it reverse atick behknd the keeper. 2nil and half time. 

After our beans and pastilles, and a talk about needing to retain possession, we went back to it. Our possession this half was great, with lovely passing linking our play. Our screen and mids found some lovely spaces to send balls through to the forwards bit Altons defence kept us outside the D, but we were building...

After a series of lovely passes up the pitch, Brends sent Jen a lovely ball to the middle of the D. Strong side, which she pushed past the keeper's right foot. 3 nil. 

It was nearly 4- another lovely feed to Sue at the p spot. She stopped it and we all almost celebrated, but the ball rolled out of reach. She claims we all distracted her. 

A fantastic team performance- everyone worked their socks off. Superb play from mom- roseanne.
