Welcome to Southampton Hockey Club

SHC are a large friendly mixed club based at the Sports Centre in the heart of Southampton, and have a long history and a successful year on year improvement strategy.  We currently have 8 men's teams, 5 ladies teams and a large thriving junior section of which we are very proud.

Congratulations following the 2010 /2011 season go to the Ladies 1st XI and the Boys U18s who both won their respective Hampshire Cup Competitions.  The following achievements in the 2009 / 2010 season Ladies 1st XI Hampshire Cup Winners, Ladies 3rdXI Hampshire Division 2 Champions, Men's Otters Hampshire Division 7 Champions, and the Men's 1stXI promoted to Regional Division 1.

Our support structure for playing, coaching and umpiring is second-to-none in the area with something on offer for all ages and abilities. Whatever your ability, you are welcome to attend one of our training sessions and see how much fun you can have by being part of a friendly, diverse and enjoyable sports club.

Southampton National Call Ups Congratulations for the following call ups - Emma White (England Over 40's), Fiona Jarman and Linda Dunham (England Over 50's), Sue Merry (England Over 55's), Bill Stokes (South Over 60's).

Southampton Over 50's National Plate Runners Up The Cockburn's XI lost out to Peterborough 2-1 in the National Plate Final on Sunday 21st April 2013 with Bill Stokes scoring for Southampton. 

England Over 50s Ladies World Cup Champions  Following on the back of the Home Countries in Edinburgh earlier this year when England Over 50s Ladies overcame Scotland and Wales to become Home Countries champions the ladies travelled to Canterbury to play in the Masters' World Cup over the last two weeks.  Three Southampton players were in the England team Sue Merry (Captain) , Linda Dunham (GK) and Fiona Jarman (Defence), and coached by Roger Merry.  England played four pool matches against New Zealand, Australia, Wales and Ireland and then went on to beat New Zealand 3 - 0 in a semi final and Australia 2- 0 in the final.  Sue was top goal scorer in the tournament with 7 goals in six matches, Linda kept a clean sheet.

2012 / 13  Fixtures The fixtures for the 2012 / 13 season have been added to the site.

 SHC Raffle 2012 prizes Thank you to those who donated prizes, and thank you to all those who made an effort to sell the tickets.  We have raised over £1,250 which will go towards the junior development fund within the club.  The list of prizes and winners can be found on the SHC Raffle page.

Results, scorers and Who's the Daddy back up and running! Please let your captain or the webmaster know where results and scorers are incorrect or missing please, otherwise you will not get on the golden stick leader board.  Goals can only be added against results!

Fundraising - Free when you shop online!

The club has an account with Easy Fundraising, which enables us to raise money for the Club through online shopping at no extra cost to you!  We have already raised over £450 through a very limited number of people registered to use this facility.  So please all register with easyfundraising.org.uk and shop till you drop!

This has now been made even easier with a new tool called Find and Remind that can be down loaded (and is then hidden) which alerts you when you are shopping on a site that could raise donations for the Club if you login to your Easy Fundraising account.

Some of the shops that can be used through Easy Fundraising are John Lewis, Amazon, Argos, Dell, Phones4U, Staples, ASDA and Boots as well as iTunes and EBAY!  So please all register with easyfundraising.org.uk
