Southampton Hockey Club, are looking for a coach to support the development of their Men’s 1’s and 2’s sides. The club play their hockey in the South Central Region with the Men's 1’s in Division 3 South and the 2’s in Division 4 South.

We are looking for an experienced coach to help rebuild the Men’s section with a view to be challenging for promotion back to higher divisions in the next few years.

Men's training is currently held on a Wednesday evening.

Funding is in place for the right candidate.

Experience and Approach

Hold a Level 2 Coaching qualification or equivalent or be working towards this
Enthusiasm and experience developing players and improving the team
Have worked in a similar role as a Coach or Player coach
A Player Coach would be considered

Responsibilities

lanning and delivering training sessions
Work alongside the existing coaching team supporting other team/sections of the club
Help identify young talent and offer IPDs to help with talent progression
Help build a pathway for youngsters progressing into the senior section
Offer feedback to all players in squad
Deliver pre-season training.
Saturday match day attendance is desirable

The ladies Section has five sides (the 1’s play in South Central Premier 1)
There is a thriving and growing Junior Section with several players involved in County sides.
The club plays its home games on two pitches at Southampton Sports Centre which, subject to planning permission, is due to be completely redeveloped over the next two years.
