Training Sessions

During the season (September to March / April) Southampton Hockey Club runs training sessions three days a week on the astroturf pitches at Southampton Sports Centre.
If you are between the ages 16 to 75 and looking to join the Club, or simply give hockey a go for the first time, then the best training session to attend is Tuesday night which is designed to cater for all ages and abilities. Simply ask around for Roger Merry and he will introduce you to people and help you get started.
There are also additional training sessions as setout below for juniors and the men's and ladies 1st XI squads.
Pre-season training generally starts in August with fitness and pitch sessions running through to March or April depending upon how the season falls. Please check the calendar for further details of first and last sessions for the season, Christmas breaks and generally for what is going on within the Club. If you have any doubts about training times please contact Roger Merry, who being the fountain of all knowledge, and our Director of Coaching, should be able to answer any quires.

Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes early for all training sessions so that can get kitted up and be ready to begin training at the times set out below, whilst also allowing time for a good old chinn wag!
