SHC is operated through the Management Committee, together with a number of policies and guidance statements. Primarily the Club is run by the terms of the Constitution that has been formally adopted.

SHC is an affiliated member of England Hockey Association and Hampshire Hockey Association. The Club is also Clubs First accredited.
